Personal history

I spoke with my grandmother today, who worked as an illustrator in NY in the fifties and sixties. She is 91, and has lived in the same (rent controlled) studio apartment in Tudor City since the 1947? or so?  She shared it with my grandfather, during their fifty three year marriage. (I'm pretty sure he is the subject of the panel in the lower left hand corner, and that that is one of their apartments. If not, the illustration is semi-autobiographical, because that looks like him.)   She said she would send me a few words about her experience trying to sell a few comic strips, when the illustration market dried up.
